The Gathering
The Good -
Stephen's in the entire film, not just a scene or two.
.
The Bad -
Christina Ricci is given top billing. That's just wrong.
.
The Ugly -
Falling into a hole and getting impaled on a gargoyle.
Stephen plays a scientist/art historian/archeologist, summoned to a newly discovered site that's been buried for centuries.
A few questions that came to mind while watching this:
Why isn't Kerry Fox in more movies?
Why did Mr. Dillane choose to make this particular film?
Why do I find Christina Ricci so annoying?
How do you pronounce Ioan Gruffudd?
Wouldn't Stephen be great as a priest?
The
movie itself is a fun horror flick, beautifully shot and well-acted by
almost everyone. However, the script asked more questions than it
answered, and the movie seemed heavily edited. Supernatural and
mysterious can't explain the many plot holes, and the DVD contained no
extras whatsoever which might have helped, but far be it from me to
pick a film apart. I just enjoyed the scenery.

| "Doctor, is she dead?" |
 | |
| "No, she just looks like it." | "Your face will crack if you change expression, be careful." |
 | |
| "Honey, I ran her over with the car. We need a new nanny anyway." | |
