Goal!  The Dream Begins...

"Goal!" has much in common with "Greatest Game".  In tried and true Disney formula, they're both about overcoming obstacles and following your dream to become a sports legend, but the former lacks the charm, visual interest, and rousing musical score of the latter.

In this rags to riches story we have Santiago Munez, an "undocumented immigrant" from LA, played by Kuno Becker.
He catches the eye of Glen Foy (Dillane) who offers him a tryout in England. Santiago eventually makes it there with the financial help of his grandmother.

I'd recommend it for soccer (football) enthusiasts and die-hard Dillane fans only, even though his part isn't that large, and he wasn't even mentioned in the 'behind the scenes'. Several cameos are performed by well-known players, but I couldn't pick Beckham out of a police line-up. If that's him in the pic, I have to admit he's cute.

Goal 2
This one made me question if perhaps I had judged the first one too harshly.
